Exacq Technologies Announces Integration with ELERTS
ELERTS app integration provides exacqVision users a new, timely way to monitor suspicious activities.
JULY 3, 2013, INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA – Exacq Technologies, a leading manufacturer of video management system (VMS) software and servers used for video surveillance, announces a new integration with ELERTS Corporation, an in-the-cloud software solution used to instantly analyze incidents as they are sent from a smartphone app.
ELERTS provides incident reporting software that integrates with an exacqVision system. This smartphone communication network allows users running an ELERTS app to easily report safety concerns to their organization, police or security operations center as they are occurring.
When an incident is reported from the ELERTS app, ELERTS sends the smartphone GPS location to its cloud server to determine which surveillance video camera is closest to the incident, based on the location of the smartphone. The ELERTS server sends an event message to the exacqVision server to focus attention on the nearest camera’s field of view. When the ELERTS integration is utilized, anyone who is connected to the exacqVision server via the exacqVision client software will immediately be switched to live video from the specified camera. This integration gives exacqVision users the capability to intercept and appropriately act upon suspicious activities as they are happening at their facilities.
“We are excited to announce this partnership to provide our users with more timely information to assist in making better security decisions,” said Dave Underwood, President of Exacq Technologies. “The ELERTS integration provides our customers with a new way to be active in their everyday efforts to maintain safe environments.”
“The combination of exacqVision and ELERTS demonstrates a new way to leverage investments in surveillance camera networks,” said Ed English, CEO of ELERTS Corp. “With the ability to focus attention on the one camera pointed at a security concern, exacqVision customers can benefit from the human intuition of the person who submitted the report with their smartphone.”
Exacq Technologies (www.exacq.com) designs and manufactures the cross-platform, open-architecture exacqVision video management system (VMS) used in the physical security industry for IP video surveillance. exacqVision is available on factory-installed hybrid and IP camera servers or on commercial off-the-shelf servers. It can also be installed directly on compatible IP cameras, eliminating the need for a separate server. Video from exacqVision servers can be accessed with the free, cross-platform (Windows/Linux/Mac) client, most web browsers and via the free exacq Mobile app available for iPhone, iPad and Android devices. Exacq’s products are available throughout the world via authorized resellers and distributors.
ELERTS Corp. (elerts.connectingsmart.com) develops incident reporting software that enables smartphone users to quickly report security and safety concerns to a police or security operations center. ELERTS system “knows” where each surveillance camera can “see”, by storing a Field of View database. When a crime is reported, the ELERTS cloud server uses the smartphone’s GPS to determine the nearest surveillance cameras, and triggers the VMS to display live video from the cameras with a view of the active crime event. ELERTS system expands the utility of surveillance systems to include active crime interception.
